LANTERN JUNGLE – CELEBRATING THE YEAR OF THE SNAKE
Enter the jungle where lots of surprises are welcoming your arrival. As an intruder to this paradise, your life is dependent on your behaviour in the jungle and your action will dictate how you are received by the original inhabitants. Follow your treasure map and be prepared to explore the Indiana Jones in you. A word of caution before you begin your journey: respect our nature, unleash your imagination and keep smiling.
REALITY / PAI, JUNG CHENG
As an avid observer of various creatures on earth, Lantern Master Pai often discovers new perspectives on life. The use of mosaic in this snake totem symbolizes the process of break and reassemble in discovering the hidden truth. Some of the adjectives often used to describe snakes are exotic, clever, smooth, vicious and deadly. People often fall for the beauty on the outside and only to find the reality beneath very different. The Story of Rainbow / Yuma Taru Yuma is an aboriginal fabrics artist from Taiwan, and she hopes to take you through the journey of an Atayal woman’s life. For this reason, she has conceptualized a totem embodying the aboriginal legend about the rainbow bridge. The life of an Atayal woman is thought to be a circle, and weaving fabrics is the pivotal part that will bring her life into a complete circle, only after which will she be able to cross the rainbow bridge (and attain nirvana).
