In September of 2014 Kingswood was granted approval by Council to rezone its properties at 1500, 1573 & 1583 Scott Crescent from C-3 Tourist Commercial and I-1 Light Industrial to a new Comprehensive Development zone. These properties total 8.3 acres and will eventually be home to six low-to mid-rise buildings ranging from 3 to 6 storeys called Redbridge by Kingswood Properties. There will be up to 425 apartments and townhouses on two sites, north and south of Scott Crescent which could accommodate as many as 800 new residents. There will also be a small amount of neighbourhood commercial space adjacent to Highway 99.
Kingswood will provide a new waterfront park and new public access to the Upper Mamquam Blind Channel; a new pedestrian bridge across the Channel to Rose Park; improved connectivity between Downtown, Valleycliffe, Hospital Hill & Northridge; new trail access to Smoke Bluffs Park; improved intersections at Clarke/99 and Scott/99 and more. In addition to supporting Squamish’s OCP, Scott Crescent Development will complement the District’s plans to improve public access to the Channel and will support its goals for revitalizing Downtown. Redbridge by Kingswood Properties will definitely be a beautiful neighbourhood to live in!
